Starting out as a Software Developer

This is my experience with beginning my degree in software development. This has become such a journey and I'm here to tell you the tips and experiences I have discovered while studying software development.

To begin I am studying my first year in a degree in Software Development - Game Design. This degree lasts for 3 years at a private school named Media Design School. The school has many great opportunities and has a great employment rate for graduates.

In my experience entering this new field, I have discovered many difficulties that others have also struggled with along the way. A trend of tips and tricks to tackle these common problems like learning to code and problem-solving. My first tip would be PRACTICE.

 | Practice Code |

This is the biggest tip I get told a lot and it's definitely the most helpful by far. The only way to get good at coding is to code. Wherever you go wherever you look there will always be people telling you to practice coding to get better. This is the best way to get better at coding.

The best ways for me to practice include searching the web for practice projects and problems to practice solving. Another way to do this is by asking AI for problems. If you are studying another way is to study your material and get exercises from lectures. This leads to my next tip as studying at an institution while studying is a great way to practice coding to enhance your skills.

| Finding the Right Course for you |

It took forever for me to find a course where I could interact with people and experience making games and software development. In the school I choose I get to interact and roleplay as if in interviews and having clients. The school does a great job at making it feel realistic and putting high standards for your work ready for the workplace.

I think this is accessible to anyone and anyone can do it with the right motivation. Even if it resorted to being online. Being online for a software engineering course is just as easy as going online if not easier, you still get to interact with everyone and make lots of connections that are essential for after-school success.

I also think being in school is a great way to make sure you are always motivated. Schools keep you on your feet and teach you things you might not have learned otherwise. Though they can also teach you things. you already know or will never use. This isn't a negative and should be thought of as more coding practice which is the best way to learn how to develop.

In this first year of learning how to develop I've been introduced to the industry and couldn't be more happy. The industry is helpful and there are many sources online to make sure you succeed. There is always more to learn while developing and always more to share as we learn.
